Not Just Coffee is a local favorite with a cult following, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t part of that cult. There are two locations Uptown. Choose 7th Street Market when you’re catching up with an old friend, and Packard Place when it’s time to get stuff done.

Alexander Michael’s: A neighborhood tavern with a creative menu, and an irresistible atmosphere. Get cozy and enjoy.

Go-to spot

Brevard Court: This slightly hidden gem is truly just that - a gem. Step foot into what feels like a historic Boston street and grab a drink at Belfast Mill Irish Pub or a Peculiar Pizza at Zablong, and enjoy the area’s charm.

Insider’s tip

Uptown’s walkway system: When it’s too hot or too cold to fathom walking the streets outside, become a true local and hit the city’s extensive walkway system made up of underground walkways, skywalks, and access to what you need without ever stepping foot outside.

Outdoor activity

Hit Romare Bearden Park for a Sunday Funday with a great view, or bike through the city via Charlotte’s bike sharing program, BCycle.
